Betfair’s Live Dealer Baccarat is played just like most other baccarat games, and features a minimum bet of $1, a $500 bet maximum, $200 maximum Tie Bet and a $100 maximum Dragon Bonus Side Bet.

How to Play

In baccarat, you can choose to wager on either the “banker” or the “player”. It is important to note, however, that the banker does not refer to the house, and is simply one of your betting options. The object of the game is to bet on the hand which totals closest to 9. At the start of the round, you’ll first choose to play either the banker or the player. The dealer will deal out two cards for the player and another two for the banker. Tens and face cards are worth zero points, while the other cards keep their face value. Aces are worth one point.

If a hand totals more than 10, the last digit of the total is used as the value of the hand. For example, let’s say you hold an 8 and a 5 for a total of 13. In this case your hand would be considered a 3.

If you’re first two cards total an 8 or 9, your hand is considered a “natural” win and the game will be over. If you’re cards total 6 or 7, you must stand pat; if the total is 0-5 you’ll draw a third card.  The action then switches to the banker, who must hit or stand depending on a predetermined set of rules. If the hand you wagered on totals closer to 9, you’ll win your bet, and if the hand ends in a tie, the hand will be a push.

Placing Your Bet

To place your bet, first select a chip value from the slider then click where it says Player, Banker or Tie in the center of the table. When the countdown timer finishes, the dealer will begin dealing the cards. Betfair’s live baccarat tables are open Sunday-Saturday from 3 PM to 3 AM EST.
